Position Details
Our Security Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and ongoing support of our Remote Guarding sites. Radius Security delivers video surveillance solutions for both temporary construction sites and permanent locations such as car dealerships and outdoor asset facilities.
In this role, the Security Technician will collaborate closely with the fellow technicians and the local Sales Specialist in Austin, as well as cross-functional teams in Dallas - which includes Sales, Technicians, Project Managers and Service Coordinators. You’ll also work directly with customers, third-party providers, subcontractors, and the Radius Security Canada team to ensure new installations are delivered on time and existing systems are maintained to a high standard.
LOCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS
Location: Austin, TX
Schedule: Typically, 8 – 4:30, but hours may vary depending on installation and servicing schedule. Overtime is also needed at times to support customer needs.
Travel: Must be able to travel to BC, Canada and Dallas Fort Worth for training. On a regular basis travel within Austin and to surrounding cities (San Antonio/Temple, etc) will be required.
Work Considerations: Working at heights and in the elements (heat and cold). Must always be able to prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
Compensation: Starting at $25.00/hour

Job Description
- Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain Remote Guarding Security video surveillance systems, ensuring they meet customer expectations.
- Safety and Equipment: Prioritize & operate safely on sites, including using bucket trucks, elevated work platforms, and personal fall restraint equipment.
- System Preparation and Deployment: Prepare and deploy systems, program automation software, set up IP devices, and design maps for situational awareness.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair video surveillance systems, optimize camera aiming and IR illumination, and program wireless devices and routers.
- Video Analytics: Program and adjust video analytics software to improve event accuracy and reduce false alarms.
- Maintenance: Perform periodic maintenance, such as cleaning lenses, adjusting cameras, and replacing parts.
- Efficiency and Timeliness: Complete installs efficiently, minimize rework, and resolve trouble tickets promptly to maintain system uptime. Complete paperwork and reports timely and accurately.
- Collaboration: Work with both internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Coordinators, Sales, Command Center, Assembly & Programmers) and external vendors to meet deployment deadlines and collaborate with the Sales team to handle issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to Lean initiatives, provide feedback to the Operations Manager, and ensure accuracy in project records and costings.
- Design and Finalization: Ensure installations meet design team expectations, including camera views, wiring, and assembly requirements. Passionate about getting things done right, the first time.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years successfully assembling, installing, and servicing IP security devices.
- Attention to Detail: Able to follow work instructions and drawings requiring high concentration and precision.
- Certifications & Licenses: OSHA 10 certified (preferred) and Texas DPS licensed.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools safely, with strong eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Quality & Process: Strong focus on quality standards and continuous improvement. Able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently with speed and accuracy.
- Computer & Communication Skills: Superior computer skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.

- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb. periodically.
- Comfortable driving company vans, trucks, and bucket trucks (must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean abstract).
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
